Master of Fine Arts in Music for Motion Pictures and Contemporary Media

Juan Forero (Colombia)
Juan Forero earned a BA in music composition from Universidad Javeriana (2009) and an MA in film scoring from FSAE (2020). Scoring 12 short films since 2010, and also contributed to feature productions. From 2012-19, worked as an orchestrator and composer assistant on films like "American's Affair" and "Amazona." In 2022, won Best Original Score at the San Diego International FilmFest for "Sisyphus Rock’s it." Currently, he orchestrates and supervises recordings for Tencent's "Honor of Kings" and orchestrated the 2024 Netflix series "100 Years of Solitude". Juan has scored two feature films so far: "Bad at Painting Figures" (2022) and “Motherland" (2025).

Karen Naifeh Harmon (United States)
Karen Naifeh Harmon, known for composing exotic sounds including gypsy, Arabic & blues is currently composing music for the TV series, “Sweet Everly”, a sci-fi coming of age, young adult show that will be shot in OKC in 2025. Her “Gypsy Flamenco Tango” was recorded by the Bow Tie Recording Studio in Moscow, her world & NYC premieres in 2024 for “Obsidian” and “Appassionata Air” by the virtuosic violinist, Kinga Augustyn, are now available on Spotify. Karen will take her orchestra students on a Performance Tour to Malaga, Spain in July of 2025 & Karen has also been selected as the OMTA Commissioned Composer for 2027.

Film Scoring Summer Programme

Kevin Jeremiah Hernandez (United States)
Kevin Jeremiah Hernandez is a composer and music producer based in Lake Tahoe, NV. He studied film and media composition at UCLA, learning from Steve Rothstein and orchestrator Richard Bronskill, with additional training in sound mixing under Tom Gordon. Kevin's work has been featured in short films at festivals like UCLAxFilm Fest and The Quarantine Film Festival. He is also an in-house composer for Conquest Publishing. Outside of media composition, Kevin is the creative force behind You Are Everywhere, a music project that explores a diverse range of sound and visual art.
