Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria and is located on the Black Sea coast. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its beaches, historical sites and cultural attractions.
The currency in Varna is the Bulgarian lev (BGN). The local language is Bulgarian, but English is widely spoken, especially in tourist areas. You'll have no problem getting by with English in Varna.

Airport and other transports for tourists
Varna Airport is the main airport serving the city. It is located about 10 kilometers from the city center and offers flights to a number of destinations, including Sofia, Bucharest, and Istanbul. There are also a number of bus and train services that connect Varna to other cities in Bulgaria and the rest of Europe. All of our composers and staff fly into the Varna airport (VAR) for the Film Scoring Summer Program.
